Thought you would like to see our prickly visitor last October.

Jackie Burke from Leighton Buzzard Hedgehogs brought him along to help with her talk.

Last year's Summer BBQ was a great success. Despite very very heavy rain just before people were due the decision was made to go ahead. Luckily it stopped just in time and we were able to enjoy a really good evening. The paella proved popular and there was not a scrap of rice left in the pan. It has been decided that the event will be repeated this year!

We had a successful walk from Dunstable Town to Dunstable Downs on Sunday the 6th September.
We met at the White Swan Inn, High Street South, Dunstable at 10.30 am for registrationand began walking at 11am.
It's approximately a seven and a half mile walk through woodland to Dunstable Downs and back and we rested on the Downs half way. We returned to The White Swan at 2.30pm for a BBQ, certificates and badges.

Elvis arrived in Caddington on 13th June and we had a very enjoyable evening. This event brought us about £500.00. It is always nice to be able to raise money and have fun.

If you look up the July issue of The News you will see details of the Billboard campaign. The poster has been seen at Luton Central, Luton Parkway and St Albans stations. We do hope that many people are visiting: www.sarahsstory.org.uk

At the 2008 AGM both our Treasurer and Secretary informed the meeting that they wanted to stand down at the 2009 AGM. Luckily we have found a new Treasurer but no sign so far of a Secretary. Details are being given to the local Volunteer Organisations but if anyone reading this feels they would like to give us a hand please do get in touch.
The year started off well with two donations coming in January. Over the Christmas period our friends at Longhorn Charity played Christmas music and took Santa along to various Supermarkets which raised the great sum of £450.00. An event was organised in memory of Sandra Cooper by her husband at the Luton Celtic Club and this raised £257.00.

Through our fund raising activities and the donations we have received we have been able to help local people living with MND. We have three people zipping up and down stairs on their stairlifts and will soon be helping to fund another one. We have also been very pleased to be able to help with a very special holiday overseas. Getting hold of various small items such as neck supports and arm cushions can take a while so we are funding a small stock of items to be held by our local Neurological Support Team.
To everyone who has put some money in a tin, joined our events or helped raise funds, thank you on behalf of the people you have assisted.
